At Give Kids The World, we never miss an opportunity to celebrate birthdays. Whether it’s Mayor Clayton’s party on Tuesday nights or the birthdays of wish children and their siblings, we’re all about surprises, gifts, and fun!
Back at home in Bellville, Ohio, wish kid Jonah received a very special 14th birthday celebration. His parents threw him a Village-themed party!
Jonah and his family visited with us in February 2017, and they wanted to give friends and relatives a glimpse of the fun they had while here. The party featured everything Jonah loved about the Village – from his very own version of Marc’s DinoPutt to a special visit from Santa Claus!
“We made so many amazing memories when we were there,” said Brad, Jonah’s father. “We wanted to help Jonah remember by attempting to recreate that magic for his birthday.”
They had their own version of Twinkle Hope’s Rockin’ Spa, complete with face painting, tattoos, nail painting, and hair styling. And, since it’s tricky to grow a magic pillow tree, Jonah’s guests were able to make their own pillows to take home with them!
Parents Brad and Amber added special touches to make their home look and feel just like the Village, including wish stars on the ceiling, characters, Ol’ Elmer, and even a beautiful cake donated through Icing Smiles, a nonprofit organization that creates custom cakes for critically ill children.
“It was so nice to see his happiness as he was taken back to the Village on his trip down memory lane,” said Brad. “We could not have had this party without the amazing memories we made on our magical adventure.”
