As charities across the U.S. explore creative ways to persevere during the COVID-19 pandemic, Give Kids The World decided to do what it does best: Give back. There’s a little house in Pennsylvania, tucked away in a backyard, where the fairytales and magic of Give Kids The World Village live. This blue playhouse with yellow trim and a purple roof holds more within its walls than two little girls dreaming of star fairies and six-foot-tall bunny rabbits; it’s a place where love, hope and family are held close. Bradley is a vibrant child who lives in the United Kingdom. Born with cystic fibrosis, he was granted a wish through Rays of Sunshine, one of our wish granting partners based in the UK. Without hesitation his one true wish was to visit a “splash park and giant pool.” (click for more)
Over the past few weeks we have watched thousands of graduates celebrate one of the biggest milestones of their life virtually. Today we celebrate all the graduating wish kids who have called Give Kids The World home. And while 2020 has brought challenges, we know these kids and their families have battled through more than most ever will. Our hearts swelled when we learned Dylan carried Brayden with him on their graduation day, tucked inside his cap. Fourteen years after their trip, we were honored to be able to contribute in our own way to such a momentous celebration.
